An audience Q&A, readings from her new book and the 1968 documentary about her father, "Robert Kennedy Remembered" -- filmed immediately after his assassination -- will all be part of this special evening at the new Clive Davis Arts Center.
Guests will view the Academy Award-winning documentary, "Robert Kennedy Remembered," in the newly-renovated Main Theater. An audience conversation and Q&A with Kerry Kennedy will follow the film, including a personal introduction to her new book, "Robert F. Kennedy: Ripples of Hope," published by Center Street.
Including interviews with international figures from Barack Obama to George Clooney, Al Gore, Martin Sheen and Gloria Steinem, "Ripples of Hope" explores RFK's influence on issues still at the heart of America's identity today.
Broadcast on all television networks simultaneously in August of 1968, “Robert Kennedy Remembered” brought the Democratic National Convention proceedings to a standstill and the crowd, in tears, to its feet. The film was produced in only four weeks, two months after the Senator and former U.S. Attorney General's assassination, and went on to win the Academy Award® for Best Documentary Short in 1968.
The Q&A will be moderated by local resident, Nancy Steiner of Cross River Productions. CRP has produced over 50 short films for the Council on Foreign Relations, and Steiner has produced and directed extensive network television and documentary films with a focus on civil rights and American history.
Admission to the event costs $60 and includes a signed copy of “Ripples of Hope” and popcorn.
